Novice Division
For First Time of Non-Placing Athletes
The Novice Division is ideal for newer competitors or those who have not yet placed in the top 3 in any WNBF amateur contest. If you’re stepping on stage to gain experience or testing the waters of competition, this is your launchpad.
Who can compete?
This is open to all amateur athletes who meet one or more of the following:
- You’ve competed before but never placed Top 3 in a WNBF amateur division
- It’s your first time competing
***Note: If you have placed in a different federation or division but not with WNBF, you are still eligible to compete in Novice.***
Requirements:
- It’s your first time competing OR you’ve competed before, but never placed Top 3 in a WNBF amateur division
- Register as a WNBF Amateur competitor
- Must comply with all WNBF rules and guidelines
- Pass a required polygraph test
Novice Division Categories
Novice athletes may enter any of the following categories:
Can I Compete in More Than One Division?
Yes! For WNBF Pro Qualifying events, athletes may enter Open OR Novice, NOT BOTH. Crossovers may occur between an age division and Open or Novice, or between categories such as Figure & Fit Body, or Men’s Physique and Bodybuilding.
Do I Have to Take a Polygraph?
Yes — we take the WNBF’s drug-free standard seriously. All athletes are required to pass a polygraph exam before they’re allowed to compete.
- Polygraph tests are valid for 6 weeks
- If tested for another WNBF show recently, let us know — we’ll confirm it with the WNBF
- Testing is scheduled in advance and conducted by certified professionals
